Art school participants created collaborative imaginary maps
The maps were innitially created by students drawing round each other’s bodies.
They added their own styles of patterning

Students were guided by PCA Artists to sketch portraits of each other from life.
They visited an exhibition in St. Chad’s Church by re:collect and made sketches…

A Silver Arts Award student developed silk painting and graphic design skills.
Since 2018 Participate Contemporary Artspace (PCA) have offered 3 Summer Art School programmes to support young people interested in developing their artistic skills. Open to 11-19 year olds, the Art School’s gave participants the opportunity to express their creativity through Art & Design Workshops, alongside artists with wide-ranging skills and approaches to media. PCA gave these young people the opportunity to gain a Bronze or Silver Arts Award on completion of the full programme. This was later added to by a “Discover at Home” Award during the Covid 19 pandemic lockdowns.
PCA secured funding from Arts Council England and Shropshire Council to develop the Summer Art School and Arts Award programmes.
